Appliance Current Load Calculator to Daily Watt Usage
simply list them all with their current draw. All of your appliance that use electricity say how much they take on or near the cord.
These items, like Refrigerators, lights, computers, Ranges, televisions, and others, all have a rough estimate in the table below for those who need it.
For each appliance, enter the number of that appliance that you own into the quantity box, Qty.
Enter the the power utilized in watts (amps x volts), into the Watts box.
Finally enter the hours a day the appliances are running into the Hrs/Day field below.
We have also provided a
list of common appliance and their power consumption at the bottom of the
page. This calculator will help those of you who need it, to build a snapshot of your power consumption by day.
This will then allow you to multiply by the number of days in a month (28-31) and get to KiloWatt hours used a month. This can then be entered into Step #1 above.

FAQ and Help Section for the Solar Panel Calculator
a. I can not use the solar panel calculator without knowing the wattage of my appliances!
-So add up the appliances above, then move the total to the solar panel calculator. Calculate solar panels and then inverter needs...
b. I'm not sure of the watt usage over a day for my new unbuilthome.
-Okay, so you can hypothetically use the rough estimate appliance load calculator below to estimate each appliance. Then add each appliance's value to the appliance calculator. Finally with the total power usage for a day, calculate monthly and daily kilowatt hour usage for the solar panel calculator above.
c. How do I use the Solar Calculator above without any power bills to go from?
-For most accurate results, add each appliance based on the sticker volts x amps, and then multiply by hours of usage per day. Once you have all appliances, multiply the total by 1.1 - 1.3 to accomodate for losses in the internal electrical system.
Tricks for using the Solar Panel Calculator Above without knowing the Watts of an Appliance
There are times that you don't know the consumption of a hypothetical situation. To get you closer, you can start by selecting the appliances from this drop down menus below. To the right will appear typical wattage
values for the appliance you selected. Remember, for the most accurate
information look on your appliance to find its wattage rating (or it amperage
rating and then multiply that by its voltage to approximate its wattage). Use these final values above in the Solar Panel Calculator to determine your solar panel and inverter needs.
