A backup battery system, or UPS consists of only 4 things:-
A Power Source (usually the grid or a generator)

A DC Battery Charger (fill the batteries as fast or faster than they unload)

A Deep Cycle Battery (acts as a capacitor for the DC side too)

A vehicle used today inevitably has too many accessories:
